On Sunday, December 16, for another year, in the Diocesan Center of Xavier, the Idente missionaries and the Idente Youth of Javier and Pamplona celebrated the Christmas Athenaeum as a prelude to these festivities, assisted by around 100 people.

This Christmas Athenaeum, around the Birth of the Child Jesus, has become, year after year, an authentic meeting of families, friends of the Idente missionaries of Pamplona, Yesa, Sangüesa and Javier. It is an encounter where friendship is renewed, while enjoying the different performances that the children prepare, led by the missionaries Identes Neema and Neethu, in order to make happy their parents and family.

The act began with the carol song “A Bethlehem in every home” and continued with the representation of the Birth of Jesus, realized by the children of Yesa; then several carols and performances accompanied by the flute, violin and accordion were sung. The protagonists of these activities were the children. Finally, the Ecuadorian colony of Sangüesa sang Christmas carols of their country. It is important to note how a friend of the missionaries Identes, Hipólito Rico, who was not well, made every effort to assist and accompany his grandchildren in the carol which he had rehearsed, so that they could offer chocolate to the Child Jesus. The athenaeum ended with an agape and it was the opportunity to talk among all and renew the friendship that is emerging between all the friends of the Idente community.

The atmosphere of this Christmas afternoon was of great joy and intimacy and was characterized by the simplicity and innocence of the children. While saying goodbye, the people expressed their gratitude for the afternoon so pleasant which they had spent.

Anniversary mass of Fernando Rielo in Zaragoza (Spain)

By | Europe, Fernando Rielo, Spain | No Comments

On December 4, 2018, the territorial Delegation of Zaragoza of the Idente Missionaries commemorated the fourteenth anniversary of the Passing of our Father Founder.

It was with a Mass in the Chapel of the Virgin, in the Basilica of Pilar de Zaragoza, at 7 pm, being concelebrated by the Superior General of the Missionaries, our dear brother Luis and the Chaplain of the Virgin, D. José Mª Bordetas. The General Secretary, our beloved sister Mª Fernanda, the Missionaries of the Delegation, relatives and other members of the Idente Family and other persons who joined the Eucharistic celebration attended.

As the First Reading of the Mass spoke of the lack of peace, in the homily, the Superior General spoke of the Founder message about being faithful to Christ and living the beatitude of peace, imitating Mary, peace that is not ours but of Christ ; He also recalled that the founders and martyrs are ahead on the path of life as artisans of peace. He wished that Fernando Rielo, before Jesus and Mary, intercede and ask for peace for all of us. He mentioned Pope Francis and his advice to distribute the gifts we have. He remembered Ezequiel, father of the General Secretary and Pedro, godfather of the Superior General, recently deceased, with the desire of consolation for the relatives. He ended up asking that all the faithful believe in peace and promote it.

The Mass ended with a few words from the Chaplain of the Virgin, D. José Mª Bordetas, alluding to our Institution, emphasizing that it was a new form of consecrated life appropriate for the new evangelization.

The commemoration of the memory of the departure of our beloved Founder to eternal life, ended by depositing a bouquet of flowers under the mantle of the Virgin of Pillar, asking for her protection.

Cardinal Carlos Osoro presides the Eucharist in Madrid for the 14th anniversary of the Passing of Fernando Rielo

By | Europe, Fernando Rielo, Idente news, Spain | No Comments

It’s been already fourteen years since the passing into heaven of Fernando Rielo Pardal, founder of the Institute Id of Christ the Redeemer Missionaries and Idente Missionaries, on December 6, 2004 in New York. Today all over the world, this day is celebrated with joy and gratitude, celebrating Thanksgiving masses for the life of Fernando Rielo, as well as commemorative events about his work.

As could not have been otherwise, in the Crypt of the Cathedral of La Almudena in Madrid, where his remains rest, a Eucharist was celebrated that was presided over by the Cardinal Archbishop of Madrid, His Grace Carlos Osoro, and concelebrated by several priests friends of the institution and idente priests from various parts of Spain.

With this motive, idente missionaries from all over Spain gathered together with friends, family members and Idente family members to this celebration in which the Cardinal of Madrid thanked the work of Fernando Rielo as well as reminding his children of the mission they have inherited and that they must move forward for the good of the whole Church.

At the end of the Eucharist, both the celebrants and the audience went to the chapel where rest the remains of our Father Founder to pray a response. The scene was of a great solemnity when seeing in procession more than twelve priests presided by Cardinal Osoro and followed by all the assistants who after receiving the blessing recited the trisagio idente.

Before leaving D. Carlos agreed to a small interview in which he was asked about the contribution of Fernando Rielo and his words were:

“I believe that he does not have something, he has a lot to say, because his own mysticism, everything that he talks about … today we need that mysticism, which is what God gives in the encounter with Him, makes us leave ourselves and makes us be artists in life and poets of life; who are not beings that do not do anything in life, on the contrary, we give what this world needs. Because what this world needs most is art, it is sensitivity, it is knowing how to reach the heart. Poets and artists always reached the hearts of men. Today we marvel at their works; be pictorial, sculptural, be literary, we marvel because they continue to touch our hearts in their works despite the centuries that have passed or the years that have passed. It seems to me that Fernando Rielo has to say a lot because he in his writings, in his own personal life, in the very institution that he has made, he does not want simple strollers on this earth, he wants mystics to walk. Men and women who are able to give a face to God with their lives. ”

After the Eucharistic celebration and visit to the tomb of Fernando Rielo, an agape was offered in the facilities of the Information Office of the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, during which the coexistence was enjoyed and a video was projected about one of the idente missions: the reconstruction of the Monastery of Santa Cruz (Tenerife), and then were heard the testimonies of three idente missionaries who resided there in the years of splendor of that place so emblematic for the Idente Institution and that were formed by Fernando Rielo. In order of intervention: Fr. José Mª López, Juana Sánchez-Gey and Fr. José Mª Sierra.

The past July 25 was inaugurated the I Exhibition of the School of painting of the Idente Monastery The Victory of San José, in Constantina (Seville), which is in charge of the artist and teacher Carmen Meléndez, member of the Idente Family. This school, which has been based in the monastery for seven years, has already become a benchmark for the beautiful Sierra Norte de Sevilla. The success of this exhibition is guaranteed by the large audience that attended the event and which these days does not stop visiting it. The paintings of the children and adults that make up the school can be found in the auditorium that the Town Hall of the town has for this kind of events.
Congratulations Carmen Meléndez and thank you very much. We know well that at the origin of this project was to fulfill the dream that our Father Founder Fernando Rielo had for our monasteries, as cradles of spirituality, art and culture. That commitment of yours has already borne fruit.

Visit of the President of the Id Institute and of the Superior General to Seville and Constantine

By | Idente news, Presidency, Spain | No Comments

Fr. Jesús Fernández, President of the women and men Idente missionaries, and María del Carmen García Viyuela, Superior General of the missionary sisters, visited the foundations of Seville and Constantine from April 15 to 23.
It was an intense week in which they had the opportunity to greet the parishioners of the parish “The Annunciation of Our Lady and St. John XXIII”, entrusted to the idente missionaries; also having a meeting with members of the Idente Catechumenate, Idente Family, Idente Youth and some members of the parish groups; as well as visiting the children of the “Concilio” School, which belongs to the parish.

They also dedicated a day to visit the community of missionaries who are in the monastery “La Victoria de San José”, in the mountain town of Constantina, and to share with the students of the painting school “El Gurugú”, which initiated in the monastery the artist and teacher Carmen Meléndez,of Idente Family. The works of this collective in which there are adults and children are reaching great notoriety, not only within the town but outside it as well.

The President and the Superior had the opportunity to live together with friends of the missionaries and with young people, whom they got to know better became thanks to their tireless apostolic action, which with their words and the testimony of their lives leaves an impression of peace and joy in those who are by their side.

On Sunday 22 the President officiated the Holy Mass in the parish of Seville. In his homily, commenting on the Word that referred to the Good Shepherd, with the strength that characterizes him, he invited everyone to say to Christ “like the disciples of Emmaus: ‘stay with us, I ask you to please, stay.’ Because in the human heart there is too much darkness, too many shadows, too much sadness. Stay with us and if we really ask him, Christ enters into us and directs my thoughts, directs my imagination, my creativity, my feelings … And Christ who is like after the resurrection, and introduces himself to his disciples and tells them ‘Peace be with you’, because Christ is peace; that’s why he says ‘peace be with you’. And what does that mean? That He will help me overcome all my difficulties if I have confidence in Him.

Trust, this simple word. Confidence means that I open my heart … Christ is peace, the Good Shepherd. He gives life and wants to share his life with us and what it is, a life of mercy, of forgiveness, that which costs us so much despite the fact that we say it in the Lord’s Prayer forgive us our offenses as we forgive those who have offended us; we say it in the Lord’s Prayer, but do we live it?…

If I look at Christ, Christ will dissolve the wounds that I carry in my heart. If I look at the wounds of Christ, what do I see in them? Pure love. But He also looks at our wounds and they are not always for love. There is pain, suffering, revenge, hate.

Not long ago in Africa a girl told me: my parents were killed, my brothers also, my grandparents; I only have hate and revenge in my heart, what do I do with all that? And I said: the first thing is not wanting revenge. Do you want to kill all those people? “No. I do not want more deaths. ” The first step of forgiveness is not wanting revenge; It is the first step because forgiveness is not a word, it is only a path. Like love, it is a path, like holiness, which is the fullness of love is a path that must be traveled, and it is not easy. But Christ next to us makes me overcome all these difficulties. He is the Good Shepherd. ”

Father Jesús Fernández also explained how to pray the Our Father, adopting the tender attitude of a child with his father. Below the photo gallery of this news there is a video with a fragment of these words of our President.

In the different moments shared both with the communities of missionaries and with the rest of the people whom they had the opportunity to greet and know, they did not stop showing their closeness, affection and gratitude, which they have also received from them, because we have all been aware of the blessing that we received being by their side.

Living family life: Motus Christi in La Cabrera (Madrid)

By | Europe, Idente Family, Idente news, Spain | No Comments

Every fourth morning the realization of a Motus Christi in the Convent of San Antonio and San Julián in La Cabrera, in Madrid, has become a tradition. The retreat congregates young couples who enjoy a Sunday around Christ.

Each course has a training program for the course 2017 – 2018, which has been around the virtues.

On Sunday, April 22, the Motus Christi of the 4th Sunday, as it is called, was attended by 38 people, some of whom were young families with their children, who also had their places to pray and reflect.

This style of retreat according to the spirituality idente has a very simple structure, but intense prayer that makes possible a warm welcome for those who attend it for the first time and are not accustomed to an atmosphere of retreat and prayer. The Motus Christi focused on the explanation and meditation around Prudence, a reflection directed by the Idente missionary Raul Caulier, supported by the Magisterium of the Church and the lessons of Fernando Rielo, Founder of the idente women and men missionaries, together with his personal experience. Here are some fragments of his interesting reflection:

Saint John Paul II in a general audience of 1978 says: << The prudent man, who strives for all that is truly good, strives to measure everything, any situation and all his actions, according to the meter of moral good. >> (October 25, 1978).

Fernando Rielo said << Prudence is an act of practical intelligence through which you can see what the means to reach the end have to be. Prudence is not only a virtue, but becomes a gift of the Holy Spirit, by which, with hope and will, requires a great strength of spirit. Prudence goes hand in hand with patience, and patience is a form of resistance and strength. >> (Paris, December 31, 1978)

I would like to point out some things that I think are important in order to achieve this prudence, as we would say in engineering, practical questions of how to achieve prudence:

  1. The memory of past experience: If a person does not know how to reflect on what has happened to him and to others, he cannot learn to live.
  2. Intelligence of the present state of things: The prudent acting is the result of an “understanding”, looking at understanding as the total responsibility, as the true love that frees from our passions, to reach the end of the human vocation: “holiness”.
  3. Discernment when confronting one fact with the other, one determination with the other. Discover in each option the disadvantages and advantages offered, in order to be able to make a good choice.
  4. Assume with humility our limitations. Resort to the advice of all those people who can give us some light.
  5. Circumspection to confront the circumstances. This would be that some action considered and taken independently can be very good and convenient; but seeing it from within a plan of life or a project of personal progress, it can become bad or inopportune.
