From 15 to 20 February our President, Fr. Jesús Fernández Hernández, visited the community of Idente missionaries in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. During this new apostolic visit, Fr. Jesús was able to be in the two parishes administered by our institution in the diocese of Tenerife, Santa Bárbara and Santa Teresa de Jesús, and to carry out some very significant activities. For example, on the morning of the 18th he met with the Bishop of the Diocese of Nivariense, Don Bernardo Álvarez Alfonso. On the same day she had a lunch at the residence of the Idente missionaries with the winner of the last edition of the Fernando Rielo World Prize for Mystical Poetry, Mrs. Teresa Rodríguez Lara, accompanied by her husband, Mr. Valentín. The next day, in the morning, together with the architect D. Germán Delgado, she could see the rehabilitation works of the Monastery of the Holy Cross in San Cristóbal de La Laguna and the advance in the construction of the new building.
On Sunday, February 16, he celebrated the 10:30 masses in Santa Barbara and the 12:00 masses in Santa Teresa. In each of them he gave the homily developing the themes of the readings of the day, insisting that we consider ourselves beloved children of our Heavenly Father and that we speak of Christ with our lives and our works. At the end of the Masses the parishioners came to greet him and thank him for his visit and his words of exhortation to live Christ’s message fully.
