Last week was celebrated the feast of St. Augustine and the district of Calamajor (Palma de Mallorca, Spain) was revitalized to celebrate the feasts of the patron saint with numerous social events for the whole family.

The Identes missionaries have been running this parish in the Calamajor district for three years and we have tried to give a special touch to this year’s celebrations. The most important event took place on 1 September with a solemn mass presided over by our Bishop, Monsignor Sebastià Taltavull i Anglada, and will end on Saturday 7 September with a parish excursion to Alcudia where the Sanctuary of the Victory will be visited on a day of conviviality and brotherhood among all.

We would like to highlight the presence of our beloved bishop, who confirmed his attendance at this celebration at the beginning of the summer. In his homily he spoke to us about humility, centering it on our saint and he told us how the humility and the love with which St. Augustine approached our heavenly Father attracted his attention. Only from humility can one say: “Late I loved you”.

May all of us also humbly know how to approach our heavenly Father by learning from Mary and from this great saint.
