Idente Youth of Bolivia organizes the summer camp every year; but for many young people in our rural parish of San Francisco Javier, participating in it has always been an unattainable dream.

The shortage of job opportunities and very primary agriculture in their communities have not allowed these children to participate in any Idente Youth camp. This year a new initiative has been launched under the theme “CAMP FOR WORK”: from December 10 to 15, 23 young people from our villages worked in the monastic city of San Miguelito to earn their entire stay in the camp that, in turn, will take place from January 6 to 13 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

Clean paddocks, plant new grass in the field, prune, carry earth, water crops, help in masonry and kitchen, among others; were the works that the boys realized under a scorching sun, without losing the smile for the excitement of getting to participate in the dreamed camp, and for knowing in turn the city of Santa Cruz, the largest in the country.

The work was enriched by the coexistence in the meals, movie nights and artistic evenings around the fire, which have been introducing in them the spirit of a Idente Youth camp that they will live fully within a few days.
