On Sunday, July 7, the Idente Missionaries of Paris had the joy of celebrating the 60th anniversary of their foundation, accompanied by the Idente Family.
Although we celebrated it a week late, and as our brother Paul Alexandre pointed out in his homily, this Sunday’s Gospel came at an opportune moment to remind us that Christ makes all the baptized missionaries sent “among the wolves”, in the midst of difficulties, but receiving the grace to maintain peace and to announce to all, without partiality of persons or cultures, that they are beloved sons and daughters of our heavenly Father. This Sunday’s Gospel renewed our awareness that we are sent: “Go! Behold, I send you.” From this imperative, “Go!”, we receive our name, idente.
The day continued with a warm and friendly buffet in the parish garden and the reading by the Provincial Superior of the lesson of our President on the occasion of this 60th anniversary. His profound reflection on listening to the Word of God and on the life of Saint Peter and Saint Paul was a source of consolation and peace for all.
