Here is the news from the UTPL blog about the inauguration on September 6 of the new facilities of the Hospital of the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, administered by the idente missionaries. It is a joy to know this important step of the Hospital, which will benefit the population of Loja and will play an important role in the formation of the students of the School of Medicine of the UTPL.

The UTPL Hospital, after 12 years of operation in Loja, together with the Santa Inés Hospital in the city of Cuenca, with whom it has maintained a strategic alliance since 2016 and with the support of the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL) which supports the highest level of teaching and research; it is resuming its activities in a modern infrastructure equipped with high technology equipment that will allow the population to have greater access to areas of specialized health.

Among the main strengths of these health institutions are:

UTPL Hospital Services:
Images: equipped with the most modern tomograph in the south of the country (128 cuts). This equipment will make it possible to perform a full body scanner and visualize high resolution images, in such a way that the human body is practically being visualized behind its skin and virtually navigating through the different organs of the anatomy, guaranteeing the quality of the diagnosis.
Sterilization service: a modern area where the common disinfectant Cidex is not used, which has potentially carcinogenic effects, but modern technological equipment and qualified personnel that guarantee healthiness in this process.
Operating theatres: equipped with equipment that transports the medicine of the future, objectively designed to ensure patient safety, greater precision in medical practice and work in multidisciplinary teams.
Joint services with the Hospital Santa Inés:
Intensive Care Unit: with 4 beds for adults, 5 for neonates and 1 for paediatric emergencies.
Cardiology Unit: in a short time it will have a digitalized Hemodynamics room equipped with the most advanced technology for the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases, allowing citizens not to have to travel to other cities to access this service.

The services of the UTPL Hospital and the Santa Inés Hospital will be available to all private patients, private agreements and the Integral Health Network (Ecuadorian Social Security Institute, Social Security Institute of the Armed Forces of Ecuador, Ministry of Public Health and Social Security Institute of the National Police).  In terms of costs, the same rates currently offered by the UTPL Hospital will be maintained.

The services of this modern infrastructure are working in the streets Leopoldo Palacios and Juan José Peña, available to society in general by appointment through the toll-free line 1800-488-751.
