Father, I am listening to you

The Idente Missionaries in the Philippines celebrated the 14th anniversary of the transit of our beloved Founder Fernando Rielo into heaven on Sunday, December 9, 2018 with a Eucharist celebration presided by Fr. Tomy Mundankunnel, Claretian priest, native of Kannur and friend of our Institution.

Fr. Tomy emphasized in his homily the mystical experiences that our Father Founder lived at an early age and his way of expressing it in his poems, certainly unique because they talk about his constant communion with our Heavenly Father. He underlined that for Fernando Rielo, the meaning of suffering had a different dimension from what people usually understand today as something negative.

He also noted that for the founder of the Idente Missionaries, to be physically far away from our Heavenly Father was his greatest suffering since his childhood. His suffering was united to the suffering of Christ. He said that suffering has a redeeming value and for that reason, it is important to live it in that way in our life, in family life. Christ´s suffering, his sacrifice, gives us life. And this was Fernando Rielo’s understanding, and that is why he was able to reach others. And like him, we should be co-redeemers of each other, doing and giving what is possible for us to make others happy, in other words, to give our life for each other.

He also highlighted that our experience of God should be manifested in an active way: reaching out to others and sharing with them, since all of us are children of our Heavenly Father, united to Him through Christ his Only-begotten Son. He concluded his homily saying that the work of the idente missionaries is a commitment of love: “it is not possible to help others without being motivated by a constant love and communion with God.”

In addition, he joined in the supplication of all the spiritual children of Fernando Rielo so that the Church recognize the richness of his mystical life and of the idente charism in the initiation of the process of his canonization.

After that, we watched the video “Sed Santos”, followed by a lunch in a simple family atmosphere. Members of the Idente Family, Idente Youth, Idente Volunteers and friends of our Institution were present in this celebration. This new anniversary ended with immense gratitude to our Heavenly Father for our beloved Father Founder´s life with the supplication that our prayer and our life be as he taught us: “Be aware that all the prayer of this world is summarized in only one phrase: Father, I am listening to you.”

Anniversary mass of Fernando Rielo in Chiang Mai, Thailand

By | Asia, Fernando Rielo, Thailand | No Comments

On Thursday, December 6, we celebrated in the community of Chiang Mai the XIV anniversary of the transit to heaven of our Father Founder in the community of Saraphi, with a Eucharist presided by S.E.R. Bishop Francisco Javier Virá, Bishop of Chiang Mai, who honored us one more year with his visit on this important date for us. The mass was concelebrated by six priests, among whom were our brothers Tinnakorn Latoo and Tanongsak Bikho.   The celebration was attended by around seventy people, mostly parishioners of the pastoral center and some religious and friends of the Institution.   During the homily, Msgr. Virá, referring to the Gospel that he had just read about the wise man who builds his house on rock, stated that Fernando Rielo was a wise Christian, because he focused all his life to build on God the Father all his works, united to Christ, which brought great fruit, as witnessed by the idente missionaries. He remembered, as on other occasions, Idente missionaries Eduardo and Komkrit, whom he knew personally.   He also referred to the church that we are planning to build soon on our land and encouraged us to start the construction as soon as possible with the money that we currently have, because he will help us to complete it, since he believes that there will be an important pastoral future in this Saraphi area, where he sees that there are families with many children and young people. In addition, his intention is to inaugurate the new temple, coinciding with the festivities of the 350th anniversary of the birth of the Church in Thailand, that will take place next year.   At the end of the Mass a buffet was offered on our part, that was enjoyed by all in an ambience of cheerful friendship and simplicity, with songs included.

Anniversary mass of Fernando Rielo in Zaragoza (Spain)

On December 4, 2018, the territorial Delegation of Zaragoza of the Idente Missionaries commemorated the fourteenth anniversary of the Passing of our Father Founder.

It was with a Mass in the Chapel of the Virgin, in the Basilica of Pilar de Zaragoza, at 7 pm, being concelebrated by the Superior General of the Missionaries, our dear brother Luis and the Chaplain of the Virgin, D. José Mª Bordetas. The General Secretary, our beloved sister Mª Fernanda, the Missionaries of the Delegation, relatives and other members of the Idente Family and other persons who joined the Eucharistic celebration attended.

As the First Reading of the Mass spoke of the lack of peace, in the homily, the Superior General spoke of the Founder message about being faithful to Christ and living the beatitude of peace, imitating Mary, peace that is not ours but of Christ ; He also recalled that the founders and martyrs are ahead on the path of life as artisans of peace. He wished that Fernando Rielo, before Jesus and Mary, intercede and ask for peace for all of us. He mentioned Pope Francis and his advice to distribute the gifts we have. He remembered Ezequiel, father of the General Secretary and Pedro, godfather of the Superior General, recently deceased, with the desire of consolation for the relatives. He ended up asking that all the faithful believe in peace and promote it.

The Mass ended with a few words from the Chaplain of the Virgin, D. José Mª Bordetas, alluding to our Institution, emphasizing that it was a new form of consecrated life appropriate for the new evangelization.

The commemoration of the memory of the departure of our beloved Founder to eternal life, ended by depositing a bouquet of flowers under the mantle of the Virgin of Pillar, asking for her protection.

About three thousand people at the anniversary mass of Fernando Rielo in St. Patricks Cathedral in New York

On Friday, December 7, in Manhattan New York, the final resting place of our beloved Father Founder, the 14th Anniversary of his entrance to eternal life was celebrated in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. On this occasion, the President, Father Jesús Fernández and our Superiors General María del Carmen García and Luis Casasús participated in this great meeting and Eucharistic celebration of thanksgiving.

Thus, in the context of the Advent season, the atmosphere in the Cathedral was one a special recollected joy, in contrast to the coming and going of the New Yorker, worried about reaching the next train, or taking the perfect photo in front of the Rockefeller Christmas tree or perhaps to find the perfect gift in one of the many shops in this busy part of the city.

In this framework of New York daily life, 25 buses coming from the 4 parishes administered by our Institution, transported hundreds of parishioners who departed from their respective cities: St. Luke Parish in Brentwood, Our Lady of Loreto in Hempstead and three in the Bronx: St. Mary , Our Lady of Consolation and Santo Domingo. Each year in commemoration of the transit of our Father Founder, the faithful board the buses with a sense of pilgrimage where the trisagio is prayed, and each one writes his petition on small pieces of paper, that are distributed during the trip and that will be given to the Bishop along with the offerings to be placed at the foot of the Altar.

About 3,000 people participated in the Mass in which the Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Center, His Grace. Richard Garth Hennign, noted with admiration the presence of many young people, as well as many families. The homily focused on the meaning of the word unity and how St. Paul speaks of Christ’s invitation to participate in his mystery and in that we are chosen by him.

“This invitation requires a free and loving response, as can be seen in the life of its Founder. It is not an accident that he has indicated to you to form unity with the Lord, to participate in communion; … It is very clear in the Idente community because all are participants … he has indicated the importance of communion among us because in this way we can discern God’s invitation to Divine unity, to participate in the mystery of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, because he, his Founder, has spoken to us about the community of people and that he based it on the communion between us and God … we can understand his life and message if we can remember this invitation to participate.

Like Mary, the new Eve who never sought her own will and who gave her life to God, willing to participate in the Mystery, the life of our Founder is marked by free responses of self giving to the communion and unity with the Divine Persons.”

Filled with God, filled with hope and with a happy heart, we return to our homes happy to reach the holiness in common to which our Heavenly Father invites us.

Berlin, the 14th transit of our founder.

By | Europe, Fernando Rielo, Germany | No Comments

In Berlin, we celebrated the 14th transit of our founder, Fernando Rielo, in a familiar atmosphere together with the Idente Family from Berlin, Frankfurt/Oder and Fürstenwalde. Due to the renovation work in the Hedwig’s Cathedral, the Holy Mass took place in the parrish hall. Our friend and priest Arduino Marra celebrated the mass in a loving, joyful and enthusiastic manner. During the homily he focused on the closeness that Fernando Rielo had to the Divine Persons, contemplating everything from the heart of the Father. The anecdote of the Sacra Martirial served as an example to live like him the martyrdom of everyday by living the self abnegation to give yourself to others. Finally, parting from our name, Missionaries Identes, he invited all the people present to be an apostle continually. During the reception, after the eucharistic celebration, we talked about the mystical poetry of Fernando Rielo and showed a short video of the mission in Yaounde which everyone watched with great interest. This celebration, in which we felt the presence of our founder, reminded us again of the necessity to deepen and grow in our consagration with the sacrifice of our life and our reputation.

Cardinal Carlos Osoro presides the Eucharist in Madrid for the 14th anniversary of the Passing of Fernando Rielo

By | Europe, Fernando Rielo, Idente news, Spain | No Comments

It’s been already fourteen years since the passing into heaven of Fernando Rielo Pardal, founder of the Institute Id of Christ the Redeemer Missionaries and Idente Missionaries, on December 6, 2004 in New York. Today all over the world, this day is celebrated with joy and gratitude, celebrating Thanksgiving masses for the life of Fernando Rielo, as well as commemorative events about his work.

As could not have been otherwise, in the Crypt of the Cathedral of La Almudena in Madrid, where his remains rest, a Eucharist was celebrated that was presided over by the Cardinal Archbishop of Madrid, His Grace Carlos Osoro, and concelebrated by several priests friends of the institution and idente priests from various parts of Spain.

With this motive, idente missionaries from all over Spain gathered together with friends, family members and Idente family members to this celebration in which the Cardinal of Madrid thanked the work of Fernando Rielo as well as reminding his children of the mission they have inherited and that they must move forward for the good of the whole Church.

At the end of the Eucharist, both the celebrants and the audience went to the chapel where rest the remains of our Father Founder to pray a response. The scene was of a great solemnity when seeing in procession more than twelve priests presided by Cardinal Osoro and followed by all the assistants who after receiving the blessing recited the trisagio idente.

Before leaving D. Carlos agreed to a small interview in which he was asked about the contribution of Fernando Rielo and his words were:

“I believe that he does not have something, he has a lot to say, because his own mysticism, everything that he talks about … today we need that mysticism, which is what God gives in the encounter with Him, makes us leave ourselves and makes us be artists in life and poets of life; who are not beings that do not do anything in life, on the contrary, we give what this world needs. Because what this world needs most is art, it is sensitivity, it is knowing how to reach the heart. Poets and artists always reached the hearts of men. Today we marvel at their works; be pictorial, sculptural, be literary, we marvel because they continue to touch our hearts in their works despite the centuries that have passed or the years that have passed. It seems to me that Fernando Rielo has to say a lot because he in his writings, in his own personal life, in the very institution that he has made, he does not want simple strollers on this earth, he wants mystics to walk. Men and women who are able to give a face to God with their lives. ”

After the Eucharistic celebration and visit to the tomb of Fernando Rielo, an agape was offered in the facilities of the Information Office of the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, during which the coexistence was enjoyed and a video was projected about one of the idente missions: the reconstruction of the Monastery of Santa Cruz (Tenerife), and then were heard the testimonies of three idente missionaries who resided there in the years of splendor of that place so emblematic for the Idente Institution and that were formed by Fernando Rielo. In order of intervention: Fr. José Mª López, Juana Sánchez-Gey and Fr. José Mª Sierra.

The Bishop of Mallorca presides the mass for the XIII passing of Fernando Rielo

By | Europe, Fernando Rielo | No Comments

On the occasion of the thirteenth anniversary of the passing into our Heavenly Father arms of our beloved Founder, Fernando Rielo, on Saturday, December 9, a Mass of thanksgiving was celebrated in the parish of San Agustín, in Palma de Mallorca.

The celebration was presided by our dear Bishop Sebastià Taltavull i Anglada, and concelebrated by our dear brothers José Mª López Sevillano, on behalf of the President of the Idente missionaries, as well as Francisco Gallo, parish priest of San Agustín.

From Madrid as well, our beloved sister Lourdes Grosso García, provincial superior of Castilla, had moved to Mallorca.

The Eucharistic celebration was attended, in addition to the community of idente missionaries of Palma de Mallorca and the members of the Idente Family and Idente Youth, by the young people and children of the Confirmation and Communion catechesis and parishioners of the parishes of San Agustín and Sta. Brígida, administered by our Institution.

The Mass was very participative in songs, readings, offerings … as well as in the decoration of the temple, which already had for the occasion an impressive Christmas tree.

At the end of the Eucharist, the Bishop, who has just taken possession of the diocese only two weeks ago, was able to greet all those present in an atmosphere of great cordiality. Later, he was invited to the parish residence where he had a dinner with the whole community of missionaries of common life, in an atmosphere of great familiarity and intimacy.
